The modern internet feels very loud sometimes. Every page wants your attention, every platform wants engagement, and everything is wrapped inside complicated interfaces.
That is one of the reasons I enjoy simple personal websites. A small page with plain HTML and a bit of CSS feels calm. It loads instantly. It belongs to a person, not a platform.
When I build my own website, I feel a small sense of control over my corner of the internet. No algorithms deciding who sees it, no endless feeds, just a simple page with words and links.
I think the early web had something special about it. People built things for fun, curiosity, and self-expression. Personal sites were everywhere.
Maybe the modern internet is bigger and more powerful, but I still think these small handmade pages are where the real personality of the web lives.
